Expanding Compact Power: 6.4V 6Ah LiFePO4 Safety Testing
Not every application requires a 12V battery. Lower-voltage LiFePO4 platforms can provide an efficient rechargeable solution for compatible compact equipment.
A 6.4V 6Ah LiFePO4 configuration has completed third-party testing to UL 2054:2021.
A Different Voltage for Different Applications
The evaluated battery uses two LiFePO4 cells connected in series, producing a nominal battery voltage of 6.4V.
This makes the platform fundamentally different from conventional 12.8V four-series LiFePO4 batteries.
Integrated Battery Protection
The tested configuration includes over-current and short-circuit protection designed to respond when electrical conditions exceed defined limits.
Safety Testing Still Matters at Lower Energy Levels
- Short-circuit testing
- Abnormal charging
- Abusive overcharge
- Forced discharge
- Temperature testing
- Mechanical stress testing
- Drop impact testing
A Broader LiFePO4 Product Platform
Adding lower-voltage battery configurations allows HeyFuture to explore additional compatible applications beyond traditional 12V energy storage.
The same engineering priorities remain important: clearly defined electrical limits, protection circuitry and validation of the complete battery assembly.
